Goldfish Care

Goldfish Parameters: Goldfish are a cold water fish and require temperatures between 68°F (20°C) and 74°F (23°C)

Ammonia <0.1ppm / Nitrite <0.2ppm / Nitrate <50ppm (<110ppm tolerance) / pH 6.5-7.5 (tolerance range: 5.0-9.0) / KH 70-140ppm / GH 150ppm

Goldfish (Carassius auratus) are a member of the carp family. Typical sizes can range from 4.7 inches to 16 inches in length.

There are many types of goldfish: Common, Fantail, Moor, Bubble Eye, Celestial Eye, Comet, Lionhead, Ranchu, Oranda, Pearlscale, Pompom, Ryukin, Shubunkin, Butterfly Tail, Veiltail, Lionchu, Egg-fish, Tamasaba, and Tosakin.

Although there are so many variations of goldfish here at A2F we find that bubble eye, and Celestial eye are bred unethically. If a breed standard inhibits natural behaviors and quality of an animal, then it is not in our interests to support the breeding or sale of such animal. We strongly believe these animals deserve to live full quality lives and will not partake in such practice.
